Mimi Rabson has a B.M. from New England Conservatory of Music, and is a violinist and violist, as well as a composer. She is the leader of RESQ, Really Eclectic String Quartet, and is a member of the Jane Gang, XLCR, and Kaleidescope.
She has also recorded and toured with Itzhak Perlman’s klezmer project, and released a solo CD.
She has performed on Late Night with David Letterman and had her music featured on Saturday Night Live, and is the recipient of a first-prize fellowship in composition from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
She also specializes in teaching improvisational skills in jazz, rock, world music, and other contemporary idioms, as well as technology and recording techniques for strings.
